Kpop Club is a club dedicated to listening, dancing, and exploring the world of kpop music. Kpop is a genre of pop music originating in South Korea. The term "kpop" includes various different styles and concepts of music genres. It can include EDM, pop, rock, heavy metal, hip hop, and more. There are many different genres that exist within kpop, and every person can find a song that's meaningful to them. Kpop consists of many different concepts. What is a 'concept' in kpop? A concept is the theme of an album or the theme that a group takes on. They're essentially the core of the artistic image of a group. Quite a few groups focus on only one concept to be the theme of all their albums, while others have different concepts for each comeback. (Some side information: an upcoming album is also called a comeback. Every time a kpop group releases new music, they're said to have a comeback because they're "coming back".) There are also groups who have storylines that make up their entire concept and they follow through with the story through each of their new music releases. Lately, kpop groups have been blending real life and virtual reality together to create storylines. For example, the group aespa combines avatar and experience to symbolize the meaning of meeting another self and experiencing a new world through a virtual aspect. Their storyline is rooted in the idea that we exist in two worlds: the real world and the virtual world. Each of the members have their own virtual AI selves within this digital multiverse. Another group, called Tomorrow x Together (or TXT for short), has different albums that each have their own specific concept. However, each album contributes to their overall storyline. Their earlier albums expressed a childlike and fun feeling while their more recent albums explain them developing into their teenage phases and facing the harsh realities of the world. Their discography in order is their storyline: the journey of youth and growing up. Growing up is a universal part of everyone's lives, and no one is the same as they were the previous year, which is why each album by TXT showcases different emotions. Storylines, such as what aespa and TXT have, allow for more in-depth storytelling. Now, wait for *our* comeback! See you later!* And if you haven’t joined yet, what you waiting for?* References: *“See You Later” is song by Blackpink *“What You Waiting For” is a song by Somi
